From my own personal experience I know that we live in a relatively unsafe society. Violance, whether it is meaningless or not, is these days considered an everyday phenomenon. The jewel-shields made as part of this research-project provides the opportunity to give the human body a physical or seemingly physical protection. The combination of my interests in fashion, jewellery and my passion for science-fiction form the basis for this project. This has resulted in body ornaments which appear to shield the body from danger.

Imagine that traveling between the planets and different solar systems was possible.
That you could travel from one celestial body to another without having to be on route for years. What would these ships, that carry us, look like?
Inspired by the sleek design of futuristic spacecrafts I accomplished these pieces from PU plastic and silver. By using a repetition of one element the feeling of motion is created.

This brooche was inspired by the facade of the gallery. A small light within can be switched on and a tiny design product can be placed inside. A brooche that is in fact a micro-gallery.
